Pretty sure this is Carol Channing's first appearance on the Boogie Spot. So it's a big day.

Ad Rock: Garnett vs. everyone

Forgot about this lil' Nike gem from way back. My fingers are crossed that the ending is a preview of the NBA Finals matchup.

Set your TIVO - Ben & Skin are about to reinvent television

Courtesy of DFW Sports beat

If you've ever checked out our Saturday show on El Boleto, you've probably heard the great Pete Tenney (pictured above) spittin' hot sports tickers.

But that's merely a part-time dalliance for young Pete.

Believe it or not, when he's not tickering or counseling random promo girls, Pete Tenney is producing Brady Tinker's DFW Sports Beat.

One of his many tasks as a sports TV show producer is to book A-List talent. It seems that the crafty young Tenney has struck again.

He has succeeded in booking Ben and Skin for Thursday's show which airs at 6:30 tonight on FSN. If you're a DirecTV human - that's 643.

Look for us to talk on television with Brady about sports. I hope I didn't just oversell that.

Ad Rock: Nike freestyle

Classic Nike material here, and a very silly spoof, too.

(I'm easily amused.)

The original:

And the parody version:

I suck at self-promotion

Not because I don't want to. But because I usually have my head up my arse until it's too late.

Ben and Skin do Kia SportsTalk on Channel 52 tonight at 6:30 with our homie Josh Roe. Should have posted this sooner, but it was really dark in my arse and I couldn't find my blog.

The replay happens at 11:30 or somesuch...

Good call, Nike

Never been all up on Saul Williams jock. Respected him but rarely bumped his stuff.

This joint, however (which is featured in those new Nike ads), absolutely makes me wanna go buckwild and start F*@#ING S%!T up.

I don't really know what the hell Sparq is and I doubt I'll take the time to find out, but those spots get me amped.

Ad Rock: One thing I could do ... was finger-roll

The Ice Man is still my hero. Even though the wife once referred to him as "George Gershwin."

Ad Rock: Please, no Nasty-Dunk Fake-Funk

Classic Shaq stuff here from his rookie year, along with Kareem, Bill Russell, Bill Walton and the late Wilt Chamberlain.

Side note: Too bad Stanley Kubrick wasn't involved on this. Imagine if the password was "Fidelio," and Shaq entered a freaky freakhouse before discovering Wilt was wayyy ahead of him, with Bill Walton urging on the big fella.

On second thought, don't imagine that.

Ad Rock: Grandmama

Some sweet athlete-in-drag humor from Skyline standout Larry Johnson.

Ad Rock: Charles and Humpty

Classic stuff from Nike here. It had my friends saying "chicken dinnah ... yes" for weeks.

Ad Rock: Mister Robinson's Neighborhood

This week's edition features Spurs great David Robinson in the friendly role of Mister Rogers, and an in-denial Charles Barkley.

Ad Rock: the Converse Weapon

Here's the first in an approximately 283-part series of flashbacks to old-school basketball commercials. The Converse Weapon ad is one of my all-time favorites, and not just because I proudly wore Magic's yellow-and-purple ones back in the '80s.

Seriously, watching Magic, Isiah, McHale, Aguirre, Bernard and Bird try to rap? So great, and so incredibly awkward.
